WomenCentre is a registered charity based in West Yorkshire with a mission to improve the quality of life for women both locally and nationally. They deliver, develop and promote specialist women’s and children’s services using holistic, one-stop-shop services from centre and community based settings which enable women to address often multiple needs and aspirations.

Womencentre has one stop shop offices based in Halifax and Huddersfield and provide outreach support services to women and children throughout Calderdale and Kirklees.

The Evolve Project is WomenCentre’s project to provide holistic support packages to women offenders and those women at risk of offending, through the one stop shop women centres in Halifax and Huddersfield. Case workers work in partnership with the woman, the Probation Service and other agencies to put in place integrated packages of support that can include any or all of the following; debts, benefits, physical, emotional and mental health issues, domestic violence and abuse, substance mis-use issues, education, training and employment, children and parenting support. The project works with women at every stage including when they are at risk of offending, at the point of arrest, through the criminal justice system and sentencing options, and at resettlement on release from Prison.

Evolve offers women new life choices and valuable experiences and aims to address the factors that contribute to offending behaviour within this group, and also develop confidence and self esteem thereby reducing the risks of re-offending.
