Women's Centre

The Asha Women’s Centre is a women only community project offering a safe, non-judgemental environment for vulnerable women to access a wide range of community resources that will improve both social and economic proficiency and participation, as well as raise levels of emotional competence.

Asha was originally set up to provide services to women offenders, but the scope of the project has expanded and they offer a “one-stop shop” single delivery point for vulnerable women living in Worcester and surrounding smaller towns. They have adopted a holistic women-centered approach that draws together various services in the community and provides interventions across all dimensions of women’s well-being and key issues to ensure ex-offenders receive support to reduce re-offending. Services include:
• Structured case-management support, coaching and mentoring;
• Information, advice and guidance and signposting to other services;
• An extensive programme of bespoke courses to build confidence and skills, including one-to-one and small group working to strengthen women’s social and economic proficiency;
• A range of social activities and events to reduce isolation and encourage interaction.
